The Malone Auto Racks FoldAway-5 MultiRack Watersport Carrier can carry a single recreational or touring kayak on its side, vertically stack two kayaks, carry a canoe or large sit-on-top kayak, or transport any size SUP. This system features a pair of quick-release fold-down carriers with removable extension modules for transporting two boats or wide loads. Use the carriers in the “Up” position for J-Style transport of a single kayak on its side. For a stacker style transport of two kayaks on their sides, attach the extension modules to the carriers in the “Up” position. For bottom-down transport of a large kayak or SUP, attach the modules to the carriers, fold the center arms down, and place the provided foam block between the carriers and the modules. To transport a canoe top-down, fold down the carriers’ center arms and then slide the carriers and modules apart to the width of the canoe railings. Each set of carriers are built with corrosion resistant coated steel, thick over-sized padding and heavy-duty molded parts. The universal mounting system fits a variety of aftermarket load bars (round, square, and oval) as well as most factory systems. The carrier base has a rectangular “cutout” for square crossbar fit. The “cutout” will not affect the fit or function when installed to round or oval crossbars. It comes with two lengths of mounting bolts to fit a variety of crossbars. It comes with cam-style load straps, safety tie-downs, and SUP foam pads. Bow and stern safety tie-downs are required for all Malone rooftop transport(s). Failure to correctly install and use safety tie-down lines voids all warranty and liability.
